About Morzine
Morzine is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department of France. It is a traditional market town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, dominated by attractive chalets spread across a river gorge, and bordered by partially wooded slopes allowing skiing in poor weather conditions.

Morzine-Avoriaz is divided into two main ski regions, equally appealing to all tourists in the area. Moreover, in summer the surroundings are an excellent place for mountain biking.

Traces of occupation in the valley date back to the 11th century, but some names of places suggest Burgundes used to inhabit the highest areas around in the 6th century.

Being a skiing village, there are several places to grab a bite or get a drink in Morzine; most of them are located in the village, but not few are those open on the slopes.

Although mainly a winter destination, Morzine has plenty to offer its tourists in summer as well. Whether into hiking on the high mountains in the area, or the more daring paragliding and mountain biking, Morzine is a good choice.
